Dustin Nippert Signs With Doosan

The Bears have added former MLB starter Dustin Nippert. The 29-year old righty was last seen with the Texas Rangers in 2010. He appeared in 38 games and made two starts. He posted a 4.29 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over 56 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 47 and walked 34.

Dustin, welcome to the KBO!

Doosan actually scammed a real deal major leaguer over to Korea, and under 30 too, they must be paying this man a fortune. Potential for success for this guy is very high and Doosan will have a 1-2-3 top dog rotation (Jiminez, Kim, Nippert) if homeboy pans out, looking dangerous.

As a Rangers fan I really hate to see him go.
At 6'8" he is menacing to the batters that have to face him. His height adds to his velocity, with his fastball still strong in the low to mid 90 mph range. Along with a pretty good curveball, he will do really well in the KBO.

Nippert will have a fan following like no other if he has the success I believe he'll have in the KBO. Doosan's got a great 1-2-3 pitching rotation and if Dustin only stays for one season he'll command even bigger bucks back in MLB.
