Hanhwa Eagles Look Poor On The Field, but...

look stylish off it.

They've given Lee Beom-ho some kind of goofy nickname based on the popular Korean drama, "Boys Over Flowers." They have startered calling him "꽃범호." The literal translation is Flower Beom-ho. Couldn't we go with something a little more butch for a WBC hero?

Ryu Hyeon-jin got a much cooler nickname. "K Monster" is pretty badass by KBO standards. I could actually wear this one.

This is where Korea lets me down. "Sirius"? Kim Tae-gyun is a big satellite radio fan is he? It wasn't bad enough that no one bothered to spell check the shirt for the WBC hero, but to repeat it 3 times? Come on. Also, what's with the devil and angel? Is this supposed to represent the internal struggle over hitting homeruns? Before hitting does Kim picture these two characters debating the merits of hitting baseballs? Weak effort all around.

as a Hanwha Eagles fan, I do not understand any of this. They have flowers surrounding his big photo when you walk into Hanabat Stadium.

When I asked about the flowers, the fans told me it was because he is a very hansom man.

The #52 shirts with him as the Home Run King" I just find too stupid to even think about purchasing.

With all of this, one would think that we'd have a better team this year..
