Doosan has been a perennial playoff contender, but they've fallen to seventh place after 57 games in the 2011 season. Their record currently stands at 23-32-2 and they're 8.5 games out of the 4th playoff spot.

This was Kim's eighth season as Bears skipper. Kim has compiled a 512-432-16 career record in the regular season and he's only had a team finish lower than third place once in his career. He's taken the Bears to the Korean Series three times and lost all three series.

Samsung Manager Sun Dong-yeol Resigns, Daegu-based Blogger Weeps

Samsung manager Sun Dong-yeol announced his voluntary resignation today.

Sun sits in tenth place on the career wins list in the KBO. He's compiled a 417-340-13 record over six seasons with the Lions. He won championships in his first two seasons with the club in 2005 and 2006.

A replacement hasn't been named.

I'm honestly shocked by the announcement. He's one of the better managers in the KBO and one of the more quotable figures in a league full of uninteresting characters. He'll be missed.
