August 8 Games:

Lotte Giants 3, Samsung Lions 1 @ Sajik, Busan

Game 2 of this series and Lotte wins for the second time. Poor team batting on both sides (Lotte batting .154, Samsung batting .188) but one team had to win and it was indeed Lotte. Lotte returned to Busan and their winning ways (after losing all their games in their other home stadium in Masan) here. Close game, good pitching, teams still fighting each other for the 4th and final play-off spot. Definitely the series to watch.

Kia Tigers 9, SK Wyverns 6 @ Gunsan

SK pitching woes continue as #2 man Ko Hyo-jun took a fall in his first inning pitching and left the game. With Kim Kwang-hyun out, this leaves SK's top two pitchers on the IR. Ko only lasted a 3rd of an inning but still managed to give up 5 runs including the game winner. "L's" all around for the SK Wyverns. Meanwhile, Kia's tearing up the charts with their massive hits and are riding a 9 game winning streak (they won today.. I'll get to that tomorrow).

Doosan Bears 3, LG Twins 0 @ Jamsil, Seoul

LP: Han Hui

Doosan star hitter Kim Hyun-su's hit/RBI, a 1 run double at the top of the 1st, would have been enough to win as Doosan shut out LG in the battle of Jamsil. Despite Doosan pwning LG on the charts, LG had beaten Doosan in their last 4 meetings. Dreams come true.

Heroes 5, Hanhwa Eagles 4 @ Daejon

WP: Kim Yong-min
LP: Yang Hoon

Statistically close, but the Eagles take the L yet again. The game was scoreless until the 6th, when both teams scored 4 each over the course of the next two innings. Hwang Jae-gyun batted in the winning run for the Heroes at their half of the 9th to win. Unable to perform at pressure.. that's why Hanhwa's where they are my dudes (and dudette).
