Weekend Roundup: 9/4 Games

Seoul Heroes 6, Hanhwa 1
W - Hwang Doo-seong (7-2), L - Jeong Jong-min (0-3)

Heroes starting pitcher Hwang Doo-seong held the Eagles to 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk during his 7 1/3 innings(113 pitches, 73 strikes) of work. Heroes 1st baseman Lee Sung-yong and DH Cliff Brumbaugh handled the offense. Lee went 2-3 with 2 walks, 3 RBIs and 1 run scored. Brumbaugh finished the evening 2-4 with a walk, a double 2 RBIs and 1 run scored. Ho-hum. Just two teams playing out the season.

Doosan 5, KIA 3
W - Kim Sun-woo (10-8), L - Aquilino Lopez (12-5), S - Lim Tae-hoon (5)

KIA 3rd baseman Kim Sang-hyeon was the KIA offense and Lopez was the KIA pitching staff, but neither could do enough to beat the Bears by themselves. Kim went 2-4 with 2 homers, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Lopez threw 9 innings(120 pitches, 83 strikes) but allowed all 5 Doosan runs. Lopez gave up only 8 hits and 1 walk while striking out 11. Doosan starter Kim Sun-woo actually pitched like a guy who was a former MLB prospect. Kim tossed 7 2/3 innings(117 pitches, 76 strikes). Kim gave up only 5 hits, 2 walks and 1 hit batsman while striking out 7.
