Later in the 4th, leadoff hitter/center fielder Lee Jeong-wook drove in a run on a bunt single to give Doosan a 4-0 advantage. LG rallied in the 5th inning, but never really threatened to take the lead. Doosan closer Lee Yong-chan recorded the final three outs in order for the save.

W - Adrian Burnside (2-4), L - Kim Kwang-hyeon (4-1), S - Son Seung-rak (3)
Nexen HR - Kim Min-woo (4), Doug Clark (3) SK HR - Choi Jeong (5)
It's not unfair to say General Burnside out dueled SK ace Kim Kwang-hyeon and stopped the SK winning streak at 16. The General tossed 7 1/3 innings(100 pitches, 63 strikes) of one-run baseball. The only run off of Burnside came on a Choi Jeong solo homer in the 8th inning. Burnside allowed only 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 hit batsman while striking out 6. SK ace Kim Kwang-hyeon gave up a pair of solo homers during his 5 2/3 innings (98 pitches, 63 strikes) of work. Kim allowed 8 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5. Nexen reliever Son Seung-rak recorded the final 5 outs in order to earn the save.

W - Jang Won-sam (2-1), L - Lee Myeong-woo (1-3)
Samsung HR - Chae Tae-in 2(4), Choi Hyeong-woo (6) Lotte HR - Lee Dae-ho (7)
Lotte starter Lee Myeong-woo pulled another disappearing act on the Giants. He didn't make it out of the first inning against Samsung. Samsung held a 10-0 lead after two innings thanks to a 6-run rally in the 1st and a 4-run rally in the 2nd. Samsung starter Jang Won-sam was the lucky recipient of the offensive outburst. Jang was able to cruise to an easy W. Jang tossed 6 innings(76 pitches, 52 strikes) and only gave up 1 run. Jang allowed 5 hits and 1 hit batsman while striking out 5. Samsung 1st baseman Chae Tae-in had a huge day at the plate. The big 1st baseman went 3-5 with 2 homers, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Samsung DH Choi Hyeong-woo went 4-5 with a double, a homer, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
KIA 4, Hanhwa 0
W - Jeon Tae-hyeon (1-2), L - Ryu Hyeon-jin (4-2)
KIA HR - None Hanhwa HR - None
This game was all about the pitching. KIA starter Jeon Tae-hyeon and a trio of KIA relievers combined to limit the Eagles to only 9 base runners. Jeon tossed 5 innings of shutout baseball (75 pitches, 45 strikes). Jeon allowed 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Hanhwa ace Ryu Hyeon-jin doesn't have the good fortune to be allowed to face Hanhwa batters in a game the way the rest of the league does. Ryu threw 7 innings(113 pitches, 71 strikes) and surrendered 3 runs. Ryu gave up 9 hits and 3 walks while striking out 6. At the plate for KIA, third baseman Park Ki-nam did most of the damage. Park went 2-3 with a walk and 3 RBIs.
