Weekend Roundup: Lotte Giants vs. SK Wyverns

6/25 - PPD
6/26 - PPD
6/27 - SK 6, Lotte 4

After sweeping the Hanhwa Eagles at Masan during the week, the Giants had two days off to watch the rain in Busan. Despite the weekend loss to SK, the Giants have moved into sole posession of the #4 slot in the playoffs. The KIA Tigers have dropped nine games in a row and have slipped to sixth in the standings.

SK ace Kim Kwang-hyeon got the start and didn't look fantastic while earning his tenth victory. Kim ate up five innings(83 pitches, 58 strikes) and only gave up one run, but he didn't look as sharp as usual. Kim allowed five hits and two walks while striking out four. The Wyverns lead 2-1 in the 6th inning when DH Kim Jae-hyeon and center fielder Kim Kang-min both homered to push the lead to 5-1. Lotte made a late push with an RBI single from shortstop Kim Min-seong in the 8th and a two-run homer from center fielder Jeon Joon-woo in the ninth, but SK was able to hold on for the W.
