Weekend Roundup: Samsung Lions vs. KIA Tigers

7/3 - Samsung 3, KIA 0
7/4 - Samsung 5, KIA 3

With these two wins, the Lions are riding a ten game winning streak. With these two losses the KIA Tigers are in the middle of an awful fourteen game losing streak. It's hard to believe the 2009 KBO Champs have fallen this far.

Samsung starter Bae Yeong-su and a trio of relievers combined to limit the Tigers to only six hits and four walks on Saturday. Samsung picked up an RBI double from catcher Jin Kab-yong and a two-run blast from DH Chae Tae-in to get just enough offense to win. KIA center fielder/lead off hitter Lee Yong-gyu went 3-4, but the big bats behind him couldn't drive him in. KIA starter Roman Colon was chased from the game after the fourth inning. Colon gave up all three runs and was battered for eight hits and two walks.

Samsung was able to pick up a bunch of early runs on Sunday and starter Jang Won-sam was able to cruise to victory. Samsung's left fielder Oh Jeong-bok started the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning. Samsung right fielder Park Han-yi went 1-3 with a walk two RBI, and a run scored. Jang was able to cruise to an easy W and toss six innings(94 pitches, 61 strikes) of one-run baseball. Jang allowed seven hits and one walk while striking out three.
