9/19 Roundup and News

The Samsung Lions held a pre-game retirement party for DH Yang Joon-hyeok before last night's Samsung/SK game in Daegu.

Yang will retire as the KBO career leader in hits(2318), homers(351) and RBIs(1389). Yang's father threw out the first pitch and Yang's number was retired. Yang started at DH, but finished the game 0-4 with three K's.

When asked about his retirement plans, Yang announced that he'll be joining the New York Yankees coaching staff for spring training.

Nexen/Doosan was canceled and rescheduled for Monday. I wouldn't be surprised if only about 100 people showed up. Nexen, plus cruddy weather plus end of the year plus the rare Monday game means there might be more players than fans.
