Playoffs Start, Lotte Pwns the Doosan Bullpen

I really couldn't believe how pro-Lotte the crowd was. Bears fans should be ashamed. Not only did Lotte win the game, but their fans were able to bring this massive banner to taunt you with.

Lotte 10, Doosan 5
W - Kim Sa-yul, L - Jeong Jae-hyeon
Lotte HR - Jeon Joon-woo Doosan HR - None
Lotte takes a 1-0 lead in the best of five series

This was actually a lot closer than the score would indicate. The two teams played a see-saw match that saw both sides lose and take the lead...until the ninth inning.

With score tied at five, Lotte center fielder Jeon Joon-woo lead off the inning with a solo homer and Doosan fell apart. Jeon's blast was an absolute laser beam that went over the left field fence in all of two seconds. Jeon finished the game 3-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

The Doosan bullpen was battered for five runs on two hits and three walks, but Doosan made a couple fielding gaffes to extend the inning and let things get really out of hand. Lotte third baseman Lee Dae-ho and second baseman Cho Seong-hwan both drove in two runs.

The Lotte bullpen was surprisingly effective after starter Song Seung-joon was removed in the sixth inning. Lotte reliever Kang Yeong-sik faced three batters and was unable to record an out, but a trio of Lotte relievers threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings to keep Lotte in the game after Kang struggled.

Doosan shortstop Son Si-hyeon went 2-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. While right fielder Lim Jae-cheol went 2-3 with a sacrifice, two RBIs and a run scored.

The series continues tonight at Jamsil at 6 PM Korean time. Ryan Sadowski will start for the Giants, while Kim Sun-woo takes the ball for the Bears. Sadowski overcame some early season struggles to finish 10-8 with a 3.87 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 169 2/3 innings. Kim Sun-woo went 13-6 with a 4.02 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 154 2/3 innings this year. Lotte! Doosan! Sadowski! Kim! Catch KBO FEVER on KBS!

caught the tail end of this game online, couldn't believe how doosan fell apart top 9th.

ryan sadowski will completely redeem his early season embarassments with a game 2 win.

Well, he should've gotten a win with the way he pitched in game 2. Both starters were superb, actually. A surprising pitchers dual from these clubs known for their bats.

Wow. Worst managing decision I've ever seen. Walking Jo Seung-Hwan (admittedly a good hitter) to face the LEAGUE MVP!!! Who only lead the league in average, home runs, rbi, runs, total hits, slugging%, and on-base%.
Yeah--I know the manager was thinking Lee was more prone to a strike-out or a double-play. But numbers that huge don't lie.
You don't have any good options when you are facing 3 hitters batter .335, .360, and .350. But the clear option here was try to get Jo out, then walk Lee, then go after Hong Seong-heun, who hasn't yet recovered his form after a broken finger.
Dumb dumb dumb dumb.

Busan must be exploding right now.

What's even worse is that DH Hong Seong-heun was on deck. Hong has really been struggling lately and finished last night 0-5. Wouldn't it make more sense to load the bases for Hong and take your chances?

What an amazing mistake taking on LDH and giving him the extra run on base... Wow that's rough for the Bears.

Hey Sim'on or anyone else, do you know anyway in which to catch the games in Canada? Online streaming, or even download it afterwards?
