SK Gets Some Relief, Takes Two Game Lead

SK 4, Samsung 1
W - Lee Seung-ho, L - Cha Woo-chan, S - Song Eun-beom
SK HR - Choi Jeong 2, Park Kyeong-wan Samsung - None
SK leads the series 2-0

All of SK's runs in the game came via the longball. Third baseman Choi Jeong hit his first of two homers in the fourth inning when he connected for a two-run bomb. Choi added a solo blast in the sixth and finished 3-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. SK catcher Park Kyeong-wan hit a solo blast in the eighth to give the Wyverns a little extra breathing room.

Samsung was actually first to get on the scoreboard when center fielder Lee Yeong-wook drove in a run in the second inning, but the Samsung offense couldn't solve the SK bullpen. Samsung seemed to have runners stranded on first throughout the game.

Samsung starter Cha Woo-chan threw better than his final line would indicate. Cha tossed 5 1/3 innings(86 pitches, 52 strikes) and gave up three runs. Cha allowed six hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out three.

The series continues on Monday at 6 PM Daegu time. Samsung will send 2004 MVP Bae Yeong-su against SK's Ken Kadokura. Kadokura went 14-7 with a 3.22 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over 153 2/3 innings. Kadokura walked 58 while striking out 143.
