5/26 Roundup and News

Samsung/Lotte was the only game washed out during a wet night on the peninsula.

SK 8, Hanhwa 6 (10)

SK bounced back from a 6-2 deficit with a four-run rally in the seventh inning. The inning featured five base hits and a walk. It was an assembly line rally that ended with the scored knotted at six.

SK shortstop Park Jin-man broke the tie in the top of the tenth with a two-run double.

SK reliever Jeong Woo-ram threw a perfect tenth inning for the save.

Hanhwa shortstop Lee Dae-su went 2-3 with a walk, a double, a triple and two RBIs.

SK third baseman Choi Jeong went 3-5 with three runs scored, two RBIs, a double and a homer.

Hanhwa DH Jeong Seong-ho was forced from the game after getting hit near the face with ball. He's listed as day-to-day.

KIA starter Seo Jae-wong threw a great game AND got run support. Miracles can happen. Seo tossed six innings(89 pitches, 56 strikes) of shutout baseball before giving way to the bullpen. Seo gave up three hits and struck out five. Eight of the 18 outs he recorded came via the ground ball.

KIA DH Kim Ju-hyeong hit a two-run homer in the second inning. Kim's blast was part of a three-run rally in the second that Nexen never recovered.

KIA second baseman Ahn Chi-hong went 2-4 with a solo homer and a double.

LG 2, Doosan 1 (12)
W - Lim Chan-gyu (4-1), L - Kim Sang-hyeon (1-1)
LG HR - None Doosan HR - None

Doosan scored a run in the first inning on an RBI double from slugger Kim Dong-ju. LG answered back in the fifth inning with an RBI single from right fielder Lee Byeong-gyu.

This game was important for Lee not just because he went 3-6, but because he hit his 300th career double.

The two teams stared at each other until the bottom of the twelfth. LG loaded the bases with one out and third baseman Jeong Seong-hoon hit a sac fly to plate the winning run.

Doosan starter Dustin Nippert and LG starter Ben Jukich both threw great games.

Nippert tossed eight innings(120 pitches, 84 strikes) of one-run baseball. Nippert gave up eight hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Jukich tossed nine innings(125 pitches, 77 strikes) and only gave up one run. Jukich allowed seven hits and four walks while striking out a season high 10.

Outfielder Lee Dae-hyeong returned to the lineup for the first time since being drilled in the leg last week.

Yep, seems Doosan and LG exchanged their respective roles...
Doosan's offense is usually so strong, it's strange.
