Only one game was played on the peninsula last night. Thanks again, rainy season! Actually, I was a little suprised that they didn't at least try to play in Daegu. It wasn't raining at 5 PM.

Hanhwa jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a RBI single from slugger Choi Jin-haeng in the third inning.
The baseball gods saw that Hanhwa starter Ahn Seung-min was getting a little too fist pumpy for their taste and got revenge in the sixth inning. Ahn got KIA second baseman Ahn Chi-hong to hit a fly ball to deep right, but Ahn started clapping before the ball was caught. The Baseball Gods saw this and said, "Orly?" Karim Garcia watched the ball bounce off his glove and onto the carpet. Chi-hong was safe at second and scored on a basehit from catcher Cha Il-mok to tie the game at one.
Ahn Seung-min threw six innings of one-run(none earned) baseball. Ahn allowed five hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out five. He also had one of the most massive fist pumps I've ever seen from a pitcher who hasn't pitched in a meaningful game in four years after the fifth inning. You'd think he finished a no-hitter.
The Baseball Gods took further vengeance on the Hanhwa bullpen. KIA took a 2-1 lead in the seventh. With one out and the speedy Lee Yong-gyu on third, KIA third baseman Lee Beom-ho lofted a fly ball to right. Garcia was able to catch the ball this time and Lee had no plans to run on his arm...until he fired a throw towards home plate that bounced away from Hanhwa catcher Shin Hyeon-kyeong.
KIA rallied for three more runs in the eighth to ice the game and closer Yoo Dong-hoon recorded the final six outs for the save.
KIA center fielder Lee Yong-gyu and catcher Cha Il-mok both drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers.
