7/10 - LG 5, Hanhwa 4
7/11 - Hanhwa 8, LG 0
7/12 - PPD, rain
With the score tied at 3 in the bottom of the 8th inning, LG rallied for a pair of runs to take the lead. LG DH Park Byeong-ho untied the game with one swing of the bat. Park put a Yang Hoon fastball over the center field fence for a 2-run homer. Hanhwa offered up a fake rally in the top of the 9th, but LG's Jeong Chan-heon was able to put out the fire and earn the save. Hanhwa's big bats, Lee Beom-ho and Kim Tae-gyun, hit back-to-back homers in the first inning. Lee finished 2-5 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored, while Kim went 3-5 with 1 run and 1 RBI. Lost in this game was a quality start from LG ace Bong Jung-geun. Bong tossed 7 innings(133 pitches, 79 strikes) of 3-run baseball. Bong gave up 8 hits, 4 walks and 1 hit batsman while striking out 4.
Saturday night's game was all about Hanhwa ace Ryu Hyeon-jin. Ryu went the distance with a complete game shutout(122 pitches, 81 strikes). He allowed 3 hits and 0 walks while striking out 14. Ryu looked awesome. This was, by far, his best start of the season. He was every bit as good as his line suggested. The Hanhwa offense did most of their damage with the long ball. Hanhwa DH started the party right with a 2-run bomb in the 2nd inning. Hanhwa infielder Kim Min-jae added another 2-run jack in the same inning. Hanhwa left fielder Yeon Kyeong-heum added a 3-run "efffff you" homer in the top of the 9th. He wanted to make sure LG knew they were beaten.
