6/10 Roundup and News

LG 7, Hanhwa 3

LG battered Hanhwa starter Yoo Won-sang early, got a quality start out of Park Myeong-hwan and cruised to an easy W. LG rallied for five runs in the third inning. LG first baseman Park Byeong-ho delivered a strong blow with a three-run homer. LG added two more runs on a double from catcher Cho In-seong to push the lead to 5-0. LG starting pitcher Park Myeon-hwan threw seven innings(86 pitches, 54 strikes) of three-run baseball. Park allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out four.

Lotte 10, Nexen 5
W - Lee Jae-gon (2-0), L - Moon Seong-hyeon (0-2)
Lotte HR - Lee Dae-ho 2(14), Karim Garcia (15), Kang Min-ho 2(12) Nexen HR - Kang Byeong-sik (3)

Jeez guys, save a little for tomorrow. The Lotte 4-5-6 hitters combined for five homers as the Lotte Giants stretched their unbeaten streak to seven. Third baseman Lee Dae-ho went 2-5 with two homers, four RBIs and two runs scored. Right fielder Karim Garcia went 2-4 with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored. Catcher Kang Min-ho went 3-4 with a double, two homers, three RBIs and two runs scored. Lotte starter Lee Jae-gon did his job. He ate up a bunch of innings and kept the game from getting out of hand. Lee threw 8 2/3 innings(104 pitches, 73 strikes) and gave up five runs. Lee allowed ten hits, one walk and one hit batsman while striking out five.

SK 2, Samsung 1
W - Kim Kwang-hyeon (7-2), L - Lee Woo-seon (0-1), S - Lee Seung-ho (15)
SK HR - None Samsung HR - None

Whatever SK did at the plate came secondary to SK ace Kim Kwang-hyeon. Kim took a no-hitter into the 9th inning. He lost it with two outs when Samsung DH Choi Hyeong-woo singled to right. Kim got the hook and reliever Lee Seung-ho gave up another hit to catcher Jin Kab-yong to score Samsung's only run. Lee recorded the final out for the vulture save. The final line on Kim was 8 2/3 innings(113 pitches, 68 strikes) of one-run ball. He allowed one hit and three walks while striking out ten.

Doosan 3, KIA 1
W - Lim Tae-hoon (5-3), L - Jeon Tae-hyeon (2-4), S - Lee Yong-chan (13)
Doosan HR - None KIA HR - None

Doosan reliever turned starter Lim Tae-hoon turned in a gem last night. Lim tossed 6 2/3 shutout innings(102 pitches, 68 strikes) last night. He gave up four hits and two walks while striking out six. In the sixth inning, Doosan first baseman Choi Joon-seok doubled with runners on second and third. Both runners scored easy to give Doosan a 3-0 lead. KIA rallied in the eighth inning, but could only manage one run on a sac fly from third baseman Lee Won-seok. Doosan closer Lee Yong-chan needed two pitches to record the final out for the vulture save.
