Nexen/Lotte was washed out last night.
Hanhwa 9, SK 3
W - Francisley Bueno (1-2), L - Lee Seung-ho (6-4), S - Yang Hoon (8)
Hanhwa HR - Choi Jin-haeng (29), Shin Kyeong-hyeon (10) SK HR - Jeong Sang-ho (2), Choi Jeong (20)
I'm surprised by two things. One, that SK is still using its "A" team and two, that Hanhwa did so well against them. Francisley Bueno tossed 5 1/3 innings(83 pitches, 50 strikes) of one-run baseball. Bueno gave up six hits and one walk while striking out five. Hanhwa reliever Yang Hoon threw 3 2/3 innings of relief. He gave up two runs on two solo homers and struck out four for the save. Hanhwa catcher Shin Kyeong-hyeon looks like he wants to keep the Eagles' starting catcher job next year and beyond. Shin went 2-4 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Samsung 3, LG 2
W - Jeong Hyeon-wook (9-1), L - Lee Dong-hyeon (6-2)
Samsung HR - Choi Hyeong-woo LG HR - Lee Byeong-gyu
Samsung held a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning, but LG tied the game on a solo homer from right fielder Lee Byeong-gyu. Tied is where the score remained until the bottom of the tenth. Samsung shortstop Kim Sang-su lead off the inning with a walk. Kim advanced to second on a sacrifice and advanced to third on a Kim Kwang-su wild pitch. Samsung third baseman Cho Dong-chan poked a single through the right side and Kim walked to home plate. The Samsung bench guys were prepared for the walk off. One of them came running out with a large water gun while the others doused Cho with bottles of water. Lost in this game was a fine effort from Samsung starter Cha Woo-chan. Cha threw 5 1/3 innings(100 pitches, 60 strikes) of one-run ball. Cha gave up four hits and four walks while striking out two.
