Samsung/LG was washed out and rescheduled for next week.
Lotte 12, Doosan 10
W - Lee Jae-gon (6-3), L - Kim Sun-woo, S - Kim Sa-yul (4)
Lotte HR - Jeon Joon-woo (19), Kang Min-ho (22), Lee Dae-ho (43), Hwang Jae-gyun (4) Doosan HR - Yoo Jae-wong (7)
Doosan starter Kim Sun-woo was absolutely lit up. Kim only lasted 2 1/3 innings and was charged with eight of the 12 Lotte runs. Lotte center fielder Jeon Joon-woo went 3-5 with a homer, one RBI and three runs scored. Slugger Lee Dae-ho added a 3-5 effort with a double, a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored. Hwang Jae-gyun's slump is officially over. the Lotte infielder went 3-5 with a double, a homer, four RBIs, one run scored and a stolen base. Lotte starter Lee Jae-gon "earned" the W by throwing five innings...and giving up nine runs(eight earned). Lee was battered for 11 hits and three walks while striking out one. As bad as the starters were, the Lotte bullpen was surprisingly good. Four Lotte relievers combined to give up only one run on four hits and one walk during their four innings of relief. Doosan needed nine pitchers to complete a nine inning game. So, if you can't outscore a team, you're going to bore them with needless pitching changes until they surrender? What gives.
SK 8, Hanhwa 3
W - Jeon Byeong-doo (4-1), L - Kim Yong-ju (0-1)
SK HR - None Hanhwa HR - None
The SK corner infielders lead the way at the plate, while the SK pitching staff kept the Eagles offense off balance. SK third baseman Choi Jeong and first baseman Lee Ho-joon drove in three runs apiece. Choi went 3-4 with a run scored and Lee went 1-4 with a sac fly. SK starter Jeon Byeong-doo threw well enough. Jeon threw five innings(78 pitches, 48 strikes) and only gave up two unearned runs. Jeon allowed only three hits and two walks while striking out three. 19-year old Hanhwa starter Kim Yong-ju made his KBO debut and it was fairly forgettable. Kim only lasted 1 1/3 innings(45 pitches, 21 strikes). He gave up five runs on four hits, two walks and a hit batsman. He did manage to strike out one.
