The early reports were wrong. Former Hyundai Unicorns/LG Twins manager Kim Jae-bak will not be taking control of the Lotte dugout. The Giants have turned to Korea University manager Yang Seung-ho to manage next season. According to reports, Yang has inked a 3-year deal that will pay him 200 million per year plus a 200 million won signing bonus. It should be noted that Jerry Royster wanted a three-year deal, but he also wanted a little more cash than Yang will get.
Yang has been with Korea University(고려대학교) since 2007. Yang also spent time as a coach with Doosan from 1995 to 2003 and with LG from 2006-2007.
When asked about Yang's tendencies as a manager one scout said that he was a nice enough guy, but he won't play younger players. This kind of makes sense for a veteran team like Lotte.
