I'm not going to say anything bad about these guys because I think some of the read this heh.
Good luck to this year's import class!!
2 position players! I think there would be a lot of good hitters in the minors wanting to play......
No surprise it's mostly foreign pitchers. Clearly Korea is developing far more hitting talent than pitching. Watching the radar guns in games, it's shocking how few players can hit 90 mpg. Or even 87. You can train most good athletes to be a good hitter, but you need raw arm strength to throw a good heater.
Sad to see the Giants ditch Garcia--he was fun to watch. But God knows they had offense to spare last year.
I've got to agree with feld_dog. Pitching is in short supply on the peninsula. I wish they'd make an allowance for an Asian-born player in addition to the two foreign born players to increase competitiveness and foster some cooperation between the baseball playing countries.
Great list, I just linked to it and told my followers about the 5 Dominicans scheduled to play in Korea: http://www.dominicanbaseballguy.com/2011/03/5-dominicans-to-play-in-korea-baseball.html
Let me know if you see any other Dominicans come through the KBO this year.
Thanks,
Keith
