Lotte rallied for four runs in the third inning. Half the inning came thanks to a two-RBI double from DH Hong Seong-heun. KIA answered with a run in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 4-1. Lotte picked up another run in the fourth on an error by KIA catcher Cha Il-mok.
KIA battled back with a three-run rally in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 5-4. KIA third baseman Lee Beom-ho and left fielder Kim Sang-hyeon both hit RBI doubles while first baseman Choi Hee-seop hit an RBI groundout.
Lotte got a solo homer from second baseman Cho Seong-hwan in the sixth inning that proved to be the difference on the scoreboard. KIA added a late run in the eighth inning, but Lotte closer Goh Won-joon recorded five consecutive outs to kill the late rally and save the game.
KIA starter Travis Blackley had a rough outing. Big Trav threw four innings(100 pitches, 55 strikes), but gave up five runs. Travis allowed three hits and six walks while striking out three.
Hanhwa 7, Samsung 4

Samsung starter Ken Kadokura was cruising to a W...until Samsung went into its bullpen and totally blew the game. Kadokura tossed six innings(108 pitches, 65 strikes) of two-run baseball. Kadokura allowed only four hits and four walks while striking out six.
Samsung asked Jeong Hyeon-wook, Kwon Hyeok and Kwon Oh-joon to be the bridge to closer Oh Seung-hwan. They combined to allowed five runs in the seventh inning. Everything was either a hit or a walk.
Hanhwa left fielder Choi Jin-haeng lead the Hanhwa offense by going 1-2 with two walks, a double, one RBI and two runs scored.
Samsung third baseman Park Seok-min went 2-5 with a double, two RBIs, one run scored and a stolen base in a losing effort.
Doosan 4, SK 3
W - Dustin Nippert (4-0), L - Goh Hyo-joon (0-2), S - Lim Tae-hoon (7)
Doosan HR - None SK HR - Park Jeong-kwon (5)
Doosan rallied back from an early 3-0 deficit thanks to picking up a run in the third inning and rallying for three in the sixth inning.
Friday's hero was one of the unlikeliest sources. Warm body Yoon Seok-min(NOT the KIA ace) hit a two-run single during the rally that put Doosan up 4-3.
The Doosan bullpen ended any chances of a comeback by throwing three innings of one-hit baseball to end the game.
Doosan starter continued his hot start to the season by throwing six innings(104 pitches, 62 strikes) of three-run baseball. Nippert gave up two hits and four walks while striking out four.
LG 8, Nexen 7
W -Radhames Liz (2-3), L - Kim Seong-tae (1-1), S - Kim Kwang-su (5)
LG HR - Cho In-seong (5) Nexen HR - None
The final makes this one sound closer than it actually was. Nexen rallied for four runs in the ninth inning to turn an 8-3 laugher into a close game. Pinch hitter Lee Sung-yong hit a double with the bases loaded to drive in three. Lee would later score on a base hit by third baseman Park Jeong-joon.
LG catcher Cho In-seong lead the Twins' offense. Cho went 3-4 with a homer, four RBIs and two runs scored. He blasted a three-run homer in the second inning. Left fielder Seo Dong-wook went 2-4 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and one run scored.
LG starter Radhames Liz actually threw the ball pretty well. Liz threw 6 1/3 innings(102 pitches, 62 strikes) of three-run(two earned) baseball. Liz allowed five hits, two walks and a HBP while striking out two.
