7/17 - PPD
7/18 - Lotte 5, SK 4
7/19 - Lotte 16, SK 7
Both starting pitchers were fairly mediocre on Saturday, so the game was turned over to the bullpens with the game tied at 4. In the top of the 9th with one out and the bases loaded, pinch hitter Park Jeong-joon hit a ground ball to SK 2nd baseman Jeong Geun-woo. Jeong's only play was the force at 2nd base. The runner on 3rd was able to scamper home and break the 4-4 tie. Lotte closer Jon Adkins was able to keep the Wyverns off the scoreboard in the bottom of the 9th and earn the save. Lotte right fielder/foreign sensation Karim Garcia enjoyed a solid afternoon. Karim finished 3-3 with a walk and a solo homer. All 4 SK runs came on 2-run homers. 3rd baseman Choi Jeong hit one out in the 4th and left fielder Park Jae-sang hit one out in the 5th.
How good was the Lotte offense on Sunday? Lotte starter Jang Won-joon gave up 6 earned runs and still got the W. Lotte corner infielder Lee Dae-ho almost beat the Wyverns by himself. Lee finished 3-4 with a walk, a double, a homer, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. In the 2nd inning, Lee was involved in a controversial play at the plate. He bumped into SK catcher Jeong Sang-ho while scoring the first run of the game. Jeong went down like a ton of bricks and had to be ambulanced off. I guess Lee's elbow caught Jeong in the noggin. Right fielder Karim Garcia and catcher Jang Seong-woo both drove in a pair of runs. Every SK pitcher that came in the game on Sunday gave up runs. It was a cruddy day to be a Wyverns pitcher.
